![]() ![]() So According to this link, CrossOver can’t install from *.iso image which is the only image currently I have. nicely done!Īpparently CrossOver using “bottle” as encapsulation, kind of similar to PoL (PlayonLinux) encapsulation before. When CrossOver start to install, it’s downloading some font and some microsoft application! good, It’s automated a lot process make CrossOver become easier comparing “just” using wine before. Then after selecting the installer, CrossOver said it’s ready to install Microsoft Office 2016. While I connected to fast internet connection it’s good time to update the supported application database of CrossOver. Yup, it’s seem ready to install some Windows Software! Can’t wait to do so! The funny thing is CrossOver trying to install another dependancy package when it’s first run (sorry, no screenshot). gdebi also continue the crossover installation without any question immediately after gdebi finish installing some dependency package installation. Just like installing through apt, gdebi downloading the dependency then continue install them. Perhaps gdebi meant to automate this dependency installation prior to installing the CrossOver package. so:Īpparently when installing CrossOver through gdebi, it’s also installing some “dependency” prior to installing the CrossOver. what is gdebi? Any way gdebi pkg need to installed prior to install CrossOver using apt. To get more information, I try the terminal way. They provide 2 way, graphical and terminal. But is it as straight forward as usual *.deb package to install it? Before running dpkg I try to read some tutorial they provide through this link. After couple of minutes, the file size about 164MB downloaded to my PC and ready to be installed. Here we go:įirst I need to download the *.deb file from through this link. ![]() Some blog claimed that MS Office run smoothly with CrossOver in Ubuntu.
